_New Lens and Unreal Hawaii

Happy New Years everyone! I apologize for the ill-timing of my New Years greetings, but I've been busy balancing work, school, climbing/training, and trying to build up this website.

So in preparation for an upcoming climbing trip as well as shifting gears a bit for my DSLR, I've decided to sell my wide-angle EF-S 10-22mm and going with this beauty: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM.

The fixed aperture and wide-angle capabilities of this lens will really help deliver those crisp, beautiful video shots even with zoom.  This will sadly be my first L-series lens, but definitely won't be my last. I played with this a little bit at a pro shop and it's gorgeous. It feels entirely different from my other wide angle, from any of my other lens in fact, and the L-series really is on a whole new playing field in terms of construction quality. I'll be giving a review on this once I pull the trigger and test it out.

And speaking of reviews, I'll also be posting a review on my new custom Asana Disturbed crash pad which should be coming next week.

If you've ever wondered about how the climbing is and what it's like at Hawaii, Unreal Hawaii will give you plenty of ideas. They give really in-depth views of their adventures exploring the island and shoot simply amazing photos to go along with their posts. Check out their rock climbing and beach section (I'm a sucker for great beaches).
